WILDLIFE IN OUR COMMUNITY

Dear Residents,

We have recently become aware of raccoons climbing onto the roofs of some homes within our community. While wildlife is a common occurrence in our area, we want to take proactive steps to discourage raccoons and other animals from entering our community and potentially causing damage.

One of the most effective ways to discourage wildlife is to eliminate accessible food sources that attract animals to our property.

We are asking all residents to cooperate by observing the following precautions:

    •    Do not leave food outdoors for any reason. This includes feeding stray cats, birds, squirrels, or any other wildlife.

    •    Do not place birdseed or other food in feeders or on the ground, as this is a violation of our rules  that may attract birds and other animals to the area.

    •    Secure all garbage and refuse in appropriate containers with tightly closed lids.

    •    Do not leave pet food outdoors, even for short periods.

    •    Clean up any food scraps or spills around patios, barbecues, driveways, and other outdoor areas.

Finally, garage doors should remain closed except when entering or exiting with your car to avoid a haven for wildlife looking for food and shelter.

Even small amounts of food can attract wildlife and encourage animals to return repeatedly. By eliminating these food sources, we can help make our community less attractive to raccoons and other unwanted visitors.

Please be assured that the Association is aware of the situation and is exploring options to address the issue to the extent reasonably possible.  We will continue to evaluate appropriate measures to help protect our homes. However, wildlife is part of our natural surroundings, and it is not possible to eliminate its presence entirely.

Your cooperation is essential. By working together and ensuring that no food is left outdoors to attract wildlife, we can take an important step toward reducing animal activity throughout our community.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
